Summary

Momentum Shift All Across Europe

European markets are (finally) expanding

After a period of stagnation post-COVID, European markets have restarted moderate growth in 2025, according to CENTR's April report. Is this momentum continuing into the summer?

ShareShift's data is from this week, not last quarter. With our latest update, Q2'26 grew materially faster than prior quarters, with 1-3% QoQ net growth across 17 of 19 tracked country-code domains. Main highlights are:

1

Biggest Gainer

295,000+
new domains

This quarter, Cloudflare is the absolute winner. It overtook IONOS in new domain volume, and is growing 5x faster than the market. This is the 2nd quarter in a row for Cloudflare as dual entrant in our Top 20.

2

Elite Club

11
Dual Entrants

Raw acquisition means nothing if the bucket leaks. More than half of the Top 20 operators successfully cracked both the Acquisition and Velocity lists this quarter, up from just 5 in Q1. A sign of sustainable growth!

3

Biggest Share Shifter

32x
Growth Velocity

Launching with explosive numbers is one thing; holding the line is another. OpusDNS maintained a staggering growth velocity through mass portfolio migrations, and kept its top spot two quarters in a row.

Part 1

Biggest Acquirers

Who is running the most ruthless marketing machine?

What is this?

The Acquisition Index measures who runs the most efficient marketing machine. It calculates a provider's share of new, organic registrations divided by their overall market share. A score above 1.0x means you are punching above your weight.

And to ground findings in reality, we also consider Gross Add rates. The larger the number, the smaller the provider. Annualized gross add rates exceeding 100% mean that the provider would double their overall portfolio size if they continue growing at the current rate. A much harder feat at 1,000,000 DUM (domains under management) than at 10,000!

(For full formulas, specific baseline metrics, and core index criteria, refer directly to our foundational ShareShift Q1 Top 20 Report.)

Q2 Observations:

  • RackHost.hu (7.32x) completely shattered the curve with a 229% annualized gross-add rate. Their growth is coming exclusively from .hu domains; deeper analysis is available to ShareShift customers as to the nature and quality of this growth.
  • DonDominio (4.15x) and Arsys (2.97x) prove that Spain remains a highly contested, high-growth corridor for those with native footing. Both brands have accelerated vs last quarter.
  • Dynadot (3.83) is once again in the Top 20 fastest growing, but drops out of the leaderboard on net growth velocity. Churn is too high; the bucket is very leaky.
  • OpenProvider falls out of the Top 10 this quarter despite being a Dual Entrant in Q1.

Scope:

Our full analysis includes 500+ providers, but this shortlist only covers vendors with 50,000+ active domains under management.

Domain Providers Taking Most Market Share in Europe, Q2'26

Part 2

Fastest Growers

The European market remains highly fragmented. Q2 reveals more companies building sustainable growth.

What it is:

Velocity dictates the future. This index tracks the net growth of a provider's total active portfolio relative to the market's baseline quarter-over-quarter growth (3.46% in Q2). It accounts for the brutal reality of churn and the hidden power of inbound migrations.

Q2 Observations:

  • 11 Dual Entrants: Only the strongest operators can balance aggressive top-of-funnel acquisition with back-end retention. Providers like NameCheap, Hostinger and Cloudflare continue to appear on both the Acquisition and Velocity lists. This quarter, every 2nd vendor is in both tables - a healthy development.
  • OpusDNS keeps the crown. In Q1, the new wholesale platform OpusDNS was an absolute anomaly, as a new entrant. Through bulk migrations, they comfortably retained the #1 spot in Velocity (32x) in Q2 as the most aggressive share shifter in Europe.
  • Vercel, the cloud platform for vibe-coded apps, is accelerating to 11x this quarter vs 8x in Q1. This DNS-based report understates Vercel's true growth (full analysis available to paid subscribers upon request).
  • YourHosting, a Your.Online retail brand, joins the Top 5 with 8.5x velocity. Most growth comes from .nl domains, and might be due to data artefacts (analysis ongoing; data to be updated).

Scope:

Our full analysis includes 500+ providers, but this shortlist only covers vendors with 5,000+ active domains under management. Additionally, several providers were excluded from this report due to differences in their business model: ParkLogic, NameSilo, Domain Brokers Sweden, Nameshift, DomainCatcher, DNSPod, & ClouDNS.

Top 20 Fastest Growing Domain Providers in Europe, Q2'26

Appendix

Methodology

01

(*) Data Sourcing

ShareShift proprietary scanner collects and interprets public web signals. Reported growth rates may reflect improvements in coverage as well as genuine growth. The latest telemetry is dated July 4, 2026.

02

Scope

56+M domains across European ccTLDs. Providers are chosen based on total number of active domains added to inventory. Domains with no public DNS footprint are excluded from this analysis as considered inactive.

03

Attribution Methodology

ShareShift attributes domains to a provider based on its name servers, i.e. the DNS infrastructure it uses. This is different from registrar-based market shares, and may not be comparable to other reports.
